Happy November!

I don't know exactly why it's a happy November, but I can't think of any reason to not have a happy November, so...happy November! This would disapoint my apolitical father, but go-out-and-vote-on-tuesday-for-christ's-sake! Especially if you're planning on voting Democratic, if you're planning on voting Republican...I think the polls open on Wednesday. If you're a Canadian citizen, sorry it's against the law for you to vote in America.

I think this is a bum rap for those of you outside the U.S. I mean come on, everything we do has a global impact. I think the entire world should be given like at least a 1/2 vote toward the Presidency...it's only fair. How often do we dictate who dictates other countries? They should be able to dictate who gets to dictate their dictators, don't you think?

I'm watching 24 season 4, and I love how it paints the Presidents as these uber-honest good people. Even when they get their hands dirty in something like the last one, he's still a good and noble person at heart. They love America and they try to promote this idea that the ends justify the means no matter what. Yay for people like Jack Bauer who can kill innocent people in a second in order to further his cause...the USA! God bless the USA!

I would love to vote! Does te US have a 'green party'? or is that too radical? We have one in Canada. I guess I could settle for Dem. I will be in Montana...I could stay over a couple days, steal some id and give it a go.

Ps - Keifer is Canadian

We do have a green party in some states. They don't have a national presence yet and I don't think they've won any major elections except in California where they have a strong showing.

I like them, but with many 2 party elections the race is so close that if liberals vote for them, they end up allowing a conservative into office. In 2000 when Al Gore lost, the green party was seen as a major factor by pulling a fair amount of the most liberal voters from the Dems. (Michael Moore later publicly apologized to Al Gore for voting green.) So this time around with two close Ohio races for our Representative and Senator on the line I'm voting a Dem ticket. **fingers crossed***

It's always strange to me that only 2 parties make a say. (we have 4) Esspecially with so many people who would have so many diffrent points of veiw. I voted for the socialist party last time here. They have less than a quarter of the seats in the house, and in my province the conservatives are king! So there was really no chance no matter who I voted for. Though I do keep thinking that if all of us socalists voted liberal there may be a chance for them. Our libs are a bit more conservative than your Dems, and the socialits are more lib than the Dems. Our conservatives are pretty close to the repubs but they don't use God.

Yeah, I hate the two party system. It's totally geared toward minimizing any real change. 4 parties would be nice, but there should probably be some sort of limit on the number of parties, but two is just way too few.
